dr. Michele Kambolis (she/her)

Clinical Director

Dr. Michele Kambolis is a mind-body health specialist, meditation teacher, registered therapist, and an acclaimed author and speaker who has been practicing for more than 20 years. She is also an unshakable believer in our innate capacity to self-heal and thrive.

Michele has been featured on leading media platforms such as Goop, Good Morning America, Huff Post Live, Sirius Satellite Radio and Raw Beauty Talks podcasts and leads guided meditation at corporate retreats for some of Canada’s best known companies.

In addition to running a thriving therapy practice in Vancouver, she co-hosts live-streamed meditations on IGTV for thousands of followers around the world. Her new book, When Women Rise, is a timely, transformative, and inspiring guide for women who want to bring more joy, power, and peace into their lives.

STEVE DOLSON (he/him)

Clinical Counsellor and Graduate Supervisor

Steve is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. He serves as a clinician at Harbourside Family Counseling Centre where he offers evidence-based treatment approaches for individuals affected by a wide variety of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, developmental and learning disabilities, and life concerns. 

Steve has extensive experience in a wide variety of settings working with people with (and without) developmental disabilities, and blends a cognitive behavioural and life skills approach to clients’ unique needs. Steve’s client-centred approach is influenced by the mind-body connection and cognitive behaviour treatment modalities.

Steve is a facilitator of S.H.A.P.E. Program (Sexual Health and Proactive Education), which educates youth with developmental disabilities about sexual health, personal safety, and relationships. Steve teaches S.H.A.P.E. to both groups and individuals, in schools and at the HFC.

shanthi Jayarajah (SHE/HER)

Clinical Counsellor

Shanthi is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who has been counselling children, adults, and families for over 8 years.  She is passionate about helping people heal the inner conditions that prevent them from flourishing and use their strengths to create a fulfilling life.  She supports her clients to embrace a growth mindset, view setbacks as opportunities for growth, and continuously strive towards their highest well-being.

Shanthi creates a warm, appreciative, and collaborative atmosphere for her clients.  She works from a person-centered approach and draws from narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and movement-based therapy. Shanthi believes that movement and physical activity are excellent tools for healing and strengthening your mind and body and connecting with your authentic power. Shanthi’s approach will help you to integrate physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual tools into your lives to achieve holistic wellness.

Shanthi received her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2009 and is registered with BCACC. She also has a certificate in Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma and Resilience.

 

oliver wang (he/him)

Intern Therapist

Oliver is a third-year counselling intern who is currently completing a Masters of Counselling at City University of Canada. Oliver takes a person-centered approach towards change and is experienced in both solution focused brief therapy as well as emotion focused individualized therapy.

Oliver possesses extensive experience working with children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities across a wide variety of organizations and agencies. Oliver’s counselling approach is informed by his understanding of how various systems in society can form barriers to those with disabilities and their families, as well as how to best overcome these barriers in order to reach a higher quality of life.

Oliver’s clients can expect a unique treatment plan tailored to their individual needs and circumstances. Through their sessions together, clients can develop deeper insight into their own strengths, needs and values. In the process, clients will learn practical techniques for coping, mindfulness, and goal setting.

moyin adefisayo (she/her)

Clinical Counsellor

Moyin is a counselling therapist who works with children and individuals with developmental and behavioural needs. Moyin creates a kind and open emotional environment for children and youth to heal their inner worlds. She has expertise in behaviour therapy and emotion regulation and arms her clients with skills to bolster their wellbeing. She incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy, and trauma informed therapeutic practices, and a culture-informed approach as her primary counselling approach in supporting clients that struggle with stress, depression and anxiety. Moyin’s approach will set you on a path of rich inner discovery and fulfillment of self.

Moyin holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George and has completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
